CURATION
The Long Game
Our team chooses the territories worth investigating and defines the questions that guide each radar.
How we read the present to investigate 2040.
Each Future Fields radar starts with a question about a territory and ends with a map of the forces that may transform it. Along the way, we apply the first two phases of The Long Game method: the Deep Dive, where we identify what is changing, and Constellations, where we organise those changes into strategic spaces.
HOW WE WORK
The radars are made by two forms of intelligence working together. ORION, a strategic foresight platform, continuously monitors thousands of sources and organises signals of change into forces. Our specialists interpret those forces: they choose what is relevant to each territory, weigh each one and find the connections between them.
We call this combination Hybrid Intelligence. ORION provides breadth and constant reading. Our team provides judgement, context and editorial responsibility for everything we publish.
THE ORION LIBRARY
ORION library figures as of October 2026.
The Long Game
Our team chooses the territories worth investigating and defines the questions that guide each radar.
ORION
ORION identifies signals of change across thousands of sources and groups those pointing in the same direction into forces, each with a description and context.
The Long Game
Our specialists validate each force, remove redundancies and set its dimension, type, magnitude and distance from the centre.
ORION + The Long Game
ORION suggests connections between forces, and our team organises them into the constellations that reveal the strategic spaces taking shape.
2040 is far enough for structural changes to play out and close enough to guide the decisions made today. Every radar in the cycle starts from this horizon: it looks at forces that already exist and asks what they could produce by then.
A radar is a tool for understanding futures and making decisions in the present.
A snapshot of its moment.
Each radar shows the forces identified up to its last update, which is always stated.
A selection.
We bring together the forces most relevant to the territory, without claiming to cover everything.
A judgement.
Magnitude (the size of the point) and distance from the centre express our specialists' assessment based on the available evidence.
A starting point.
Constellations show where futures may emerge. What to do about it remains your decision.
Radars are reviewed when relevant signals emerge, and the date of the last update appears on each one. Content is written in Portuguese and translated into English by artificial intelligence, using a fixed glossary of method terms.
With organisations, The Long Game method continues through three more phases:
